Where this fits
For creators deciding where to list. This site is a free listing board; the others are marketplaces, which is a different thing with different strengths. Check each site's current terms yourself; positioning changes.
| Aspect | This directory | A typical mod marketplace |
|---|---|---|
| Fees | None. No listing fee, no commission. The buyer pays you directly. | A share of each sale, in return for checkout, hosting and support handling. |
| Who holds the money | You, from the first dollar. | The platform, paid out on its schedule. |
| Code review | No human code review. Every hosted file gets an automated check and a compile result on a named Rust build; both are public. Buyers also have a checking guide. | Usually reviewed before listing; the standard and the wait vary. |
| AI-written mods | Welcome, with a disclosure badge. | Depends on the site and the reviewer. |
| File hosting and delivery | Your choice. Upload it and we serve free mods to anyone and paid mods to buyers holding a code you minted, hashed and checked, report public; or host it yourself and list the hash. | The platform hosts and delivers. |
| Other people's plugins | Hosted only when the author uploads them or they come from an open-licensed GitHub repository. Plugins on uMod are linked, never copied; hosting them here is the author's choice. | Hosted when the author lists them there. |
| Disputes and refunds | Between you and the buyer. | Through the platform's process. |
| Reach | Open to search engines, with a page per listing and per creator. The site is new, so the audience is still small. | An established audience. |
| Best for | Creators who already have a checkout or a Discord and want a free listing with a public check report on top. | Creators who want checkout, hosting and reach handled for a cut. |
MixMods lists its own plugins here free, marked Official, and sells nothing on this site.
